Reference Compounds Synthesis

With a world-class chemical and related team, BOC Sciences will provide you with high-quality reference compound synthesis services. Reliability is the core of our overall service and the principle that we must abide by when we cooperate with our customers. The solid infrastructure enables us to provide services in a fast, accurate and complete recording manner and in accordance with the highest industry standards, making it the best choice for you to synthesize reference compounds. We will sign a confidentiality agreement with our customers while signing a service agreement and strictly abide by it, so as to provide customers with rest assured and reliable service.

ISO classifies materials into two groups as reference materials (RMs) and certified reference materials (CRMs). Reference materials (reference compounds), established for measuring the quality of analysis, and are critical for any measurement process characterized by a metrologically valid procedure for one or more specified properties. Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) are used to check the quality and metrological traceability of products and to validate analytical measurement methods. For medicine industry, CRMs is the major part of regulatory specification and critical for quality assurance.

Types of reference materials (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) describes the following five types of reference material):

  • Pure substances: essentially pure chemicals, characterized for chemical purity.
  • Standard solutions and gas mixtures, often prepared gravimetrically from pure substances.
  • Matrix reference materials, characterized for the composition of specified major, minor or trace chemical constituents. Such materials may be prepared from matrices containing the components of interest or by preparing synthetic mixtures.
  • Physico-chemical reference materials, characterized for properties such as melting point, viscosity, or optical density.
  • Reference objects or artifacts, characterized for functional properties such as taste, odour, octane number, flash point and hardness.

General steps required in production of a certified reference material typically include:

  • Collection or synthesis of material
  • Sample preparation (including homogenization, stabilization, bottling etc.)
  • Homogeneity testing
  • Stability assessment
  • Value assignment (“characterization” in ISO REMCO terms).
